Memorial services for Elise D. Brown, 72, Homedale, who died Friday, Nov. 23 at a Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Homedale Friends Community Church. Cremation was conducted at an earlier time under the direction of the Dakan Funeral Chapel of Caldwell. Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 11, 1912, at Weiser, the daughter of Dr. Stowell B. and Mary Dudley. She moved with her family to Caldwell where she graduated from high school in 1929. She then attended the University of Washington and later the College of Idaho at Caldwell. She graduated from the C of I in 1933 with a B.S. degree in zoology. She then taught school for a year in the Sunny Slope area near Marsing. She married Edward C. Brown Aug. 15, 1934, at Caldwell. They moved to Homedale and had since resided there. She had taught school at Homedale from 1953 to 1973 at which time she retired. Her husband died in March of 1983. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, PEO Chapter F, Th U.T., the Caldwell Garden Club. She was also active in the Mercy Medical Center Hospice program and was a member of the Homedale Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her children, Ronald and Kathy Cammack and Beverly Edwards, all of Homedale; Edward and Helen Mead of Omaha, Neb.; Kenneth and Evelyn Brown of Imbler, Ore.; and Janice Kirstine of Kenia, Alaska; two sisters, Mrs. Max Lewellen of Caldwell and Mrs. F. W. McCormick of Nampa; two brothers, Stowell B. Dudley of Boise, and Paul H. Dudley of Rancho Sante Fe, Calif.; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
