TEN DAVIS - Lt. Donald Hermo, 25, who was killed in a crash landing of a B-24 at Biggs Field, Texas, January 12, was born at Parma, November 17, 1919. He attended Ten Davis grade schools and the Parma high school, after which he took a two year business course at Northwestern School of Commerce at Portland, Ore.
Lt. Hermo returned to Parma and accepted a position in the Parma bank, where he worked for two years until his enlistment in the army in November 1941. After several weeks training, he entered the air corps as a cadet, and in June 1943, received his pilot wing at graduation in Pampas, Texas.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hermo; one brother, Lynn Charles; and a sister Gloria Ann.
Funeral services were held at Peckham's Chapel Wednesday, Jan. 19, under the auspices of the Christian Science Church, with Mrs. Henry Vencent of Caldwell as a reader. Internment was in the Ten Davis cemetery, with a short service by Rev. Fred Hall of Pamra. Honorary pall bearers were Lt. Meiers of Biggs Field, Texas, and Lt. McIwaine, of McClelland Field, San Francisco. Active pall pearers were Edward Goodson, Austin Goodson, Leondard Goodson, Dudley Tucker, and Donald Lackland. After the services, the flag which covered the casket was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Hermo by Lt. Meiers. |
