Axel Steffenson |
Axel Steffenson, 65,
of Caldwell Route 1, died at his home this morning. He
was born July 17, 1894 in Velje, Denmark and came to this
country in 1915.
Mr. Steffenson enlisted in the service of the United
States from West Hope, N. Dak., and served in World War I.
He moved to Detroit, Mich., in 1920.
He married Rigmor Miller of Detroit on June 13, 1924
and they lived there for 20 years. They moved to Idaho
in 1950 and began farming in the Black Canyon district near
Caldwell where they have made their home since.
Mr. Steffenson was a Charter member of the Caldwell
Faith Lutheran Church and was serving on its board of
directors at the time of his death. During his early
years in Detroit he was a tool and die maker in the employ of
General Motors Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rigmore Steffenson,
Caldwell, two daughters, Mrs. June Bohenbach, Charleson, N.
Dak., and Mrs. Jean Hansen of Caldwell; two sisters,
Mrs. Cjane Simonsen, Vejle, Den., Mrs. Helga Jacobsen,
Copenhagen, Den.; a brother Carl Steffenson, Vejle,
Denmark, and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church in
Caldwell at 3:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Leonard Dalberg
officiating.
Interment will be in Canyon Hill. Friends may
give memorials to the Organ fund of the church. |
