Funeral Held Sunday Afternoon at Methodist Church; Burial at Canyon Hill
__________

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church for Alfred Millard McCarty, who died Tuesday evening, July 18.  The Rev. Mr. Heath was in charge of the services at the church and members of the I. O. O. F. lodge officiated at the Canyon Hill cemetery.
Death came as a result of a third stroke of paralysis suffered by the aged man.  The first stroke occurred in 1923 and incapacitated him for work.  He was taken to the Caldwell Sanitarium following the second stroke in May of this year and has been confined to the hospital up to the time of his third stroke and resulting death last week.  Mr. McCarty, who was 72 years of age, was born in Danville, Missouri.  He came to Caldwell from Kansas City, Mo., in 1919, and has resided here until he was called by death.
The deceased is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Ward of Caldwell and a son, Dr. Virgil McCarty of Kansas City.
