HOMEPAGE

William Davis

Funeral services for William E. Davis, 94, of Caldwell, who passed away Friday, March 16, 1990, at the Boise Veterans Hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Flahiff Chapel, Caldwell, with Pastor Dick Shaw of the First Baptist church officiating.  Interment will be at Middleton.
Bill Davis was born June 5, 1895, in Fort Scott, Kan., son of George and Bette (Hart) Davis, the youngest of five children. He served our country in World War I.  Upon his return he married Sylvia Combs in 1921.  They made their home in Centerville, Mo., until 1947, then moved to Idaho residing in Caldwell since 1950.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Veterans of WWI USA, Inc.
Bill worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad in Missouri and was a janitor for the Harmon and Western Building in downtown Caldwell for many years.
With the same valiant courage that he lived his life here, Bill slipped quietly away and was most anxious to see his Heavenly Father face to face and join his mother, a daughter, and a grandson in the Heavenly throng, also his many friends and the Apostles he has met through reading the Bible.
His loving ways hold his family here together and him in our hearts.
Preceding him in death were his mother and father; four sisters, Angie, Gerti, Jennie and May; a baby daughter, Norma; his grandson and fishing partner, Don; and three nephews.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Caldwell; a daughter, Mary Myers; a granddaughter, Duanea Myers of Caldwell; a granddaughter, Dayris Dunham; a grandson, Curt Dunham and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Meggan Dunham of Eagle; a nephew, Albert Beadell, and a niece, Juanita Bolan of Fort Scott, Kan., a niece, Eva Bates of Tumcumcari, N.M.; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.
