Ve Martineau
O. A ."Ve" Martineau, 79, of Nampa, died Saturday, June 8, 1991, at his home in Nampa.
A vigil service will
be celebrated at 8 p.m. today, June 10, at Persons-Flahiff
Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday,
June 11, at St. Paul's
Catholic Church,
Nampa.
The Rev. Father
Augustine Hartman, O.P., the chaplain at
Mercy
Medical
Center, will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow
at Mount
Calvary
Cemetery, Nampa.
A Nampa native, Ve was born Sept. 29, 1911, a
son of George and Clarinda Rivett Martineau.
He graduated from St. Paul's School and began farming with his
father. He married
Velma Eastman Sept. 14, 1933.
They enjoyed 57
years together. He
continued farming for 16 years with his brother Leo, and
retired in 1975.
Upon retiring, he and Velma traveled extensively
throughout the United States,
Canada and Hawaii. He
was a member of the Gem Sprouts Good Sam Club, until the
time of his death. He
was also a member of Nampa Lodge No. 1389 BPOE.
He was loved and
will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include
his wife, Velma of Nampa; a daughter and son-in-law, VeYonne
and Norman Schell; three grandchildren and their spouses,
Terri and Matt Bunn, Mike and Patty Schell, both Nampa, and
Kay and Ken Tomolo of Las Vegas, Nev.; six
great-grandchildren, Chad and Tina Tomolo of Las Vegas, Lisa
and Shane Bunn, Corey and Ryan Schell of Nampa; five
sisters, Anna Strait, of Spokane, Wash., Cecilia Schmitt and
Rita Ward, both of Nampa, Alvina Callsen and Theresa Knox of
Caldwell; and seveal nieces and nephews.
He was preceded
in death by his parents, a sister and three brothers.
