Mary Montgomery

    CALDWELL - Services for Mary E. Montgomery, 67, Caldwell Route 3, who died Tuesday at a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Ernest Chamberlain of the First Christian Church.
     Interment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
     She was born on April 18, 1907, in Spokane, Wash., where she was reared and educated.  She married Mark A. Montgomery on Feb. 24, 1926, in Opportunity, Wash., and the couple lived in Nanton, Alberta, Canada.  After moving to Caldwell in 1929, she worked at several restaurants in the area and operated the Saratoga Coffee Shop in Caldwell for a time.
     In 1948 the couple began farming and in 1957 began working for the state of Idaho with the Dairy Heard Improvement Association.  After Mr. Montgomery's death in February, 1967, she continued to work for the state.
     She was a member of the First Christian Church of Caldwell and Hermosa Chapter No. 32, Order of Eastern Star, Caldwell.
     Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Harris, and her husband, the Rev. Jim Harris, Salisbury, N.C.; one brother, Boyd Cleveland, Spokane; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
     Memorials may be given to the Mountain States Tumor Institute.
