RANCHER MEETS DEATH IN RUNAWAY ACCIDENT

Colts Shy Throwing J. Obstarczyk  To The Ground

John Obstarczyk, a well known rancher residing five miles west of Nampa, died at 4 o'clock Tuesday morning as a result of injuries received in a runaway accident Monday.
Mr. Obstarcyzk was working in a field near his home Monday forenoon and when he failed to return as usual at the noon hour, his wife became alarmed and went to look for him.
The rancher was found lying on the ground, severely bruised about the head and shoulders and suffering a fractured skull.  The team of colts which he had been driving were feeding at a nearby straw stack.  Obstarczyk was removed to his home, physicians were summoned, but from the first his condition was regarded as fatal, and he never regained consciousness.
Investigations of the Canyon coroner and other parties interested of the wagon tracks in the field lead to the belief that Obstarczyk had started to drive to his house when the span of colts "shied" at an open ditch and the driver losing his balance, fell from the wagon and was dragged 30 feet or more over the rough ground.
The deceased was 48 years old, a native of Austria, and located in this vicinity about five years ago.  The funeral will be held at St. Paul's church in Nampa Wednesday forenoon and burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.  Mr. Obstarczyk is survived by his wife and one son.
