Hazel R.
Tucker, 80 of Greenleaf, died Tuesday, February 17, 1998 at
home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30
a.m. Monday February 23, 1998 at the Nampa Friends Church, 723
13th Ave. So., with Pastor Earl H. Tycksen officiating. Burial
will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Services are under the
direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Hazel was born November 29, 1917 in Greenleaf, Idaho to Guy
and Ruth Tucker. She attended Greenleaf Academy and graduated
in 1936. She then went to NNC and graduated with a degree in
teaching from the Normal School and taught at various
elementary schools, such as Crouch and Red Top.
Hazel served as a missionary to the Bethany Children's Home
in Bethany, Kentucky for 17 years. Next, she served at the
Penial Mission Home in the Haight-Ashbury District of San
Francisco for about 15 years.
She moved back to Greenleaf to care for her mother and worked
at the Idaho State School and Hospital until her retirement.
Most recently, Hazel was a volunteer grandmother at Washington
Elementary School in Caldwell. She served the Lord faithfully
in her various ministries and was loved and respected by all
who knew her. She was a member of the Nampa Friends Church at
the time of her death.
She is survived by her brother and his wife, Lilburn and
Leona Tucker of Meridian, ID; a nephew and his wife, Chuck and
Kris Tucker and their 4 sons; a niece and her husband, Mona
and Wayne Breach and their 3 sons.
She was preceed in death by her parents and a baby sister,
Elaine.
Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell on
Sunday, February 22, 1998 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Hazel's name to
either the Nampa Friends Church or the Greenleaf Friends
Academy. |
