HOMEPAGE

Beatrice Schmitt

Beatrice "Beatty" F. Schmitt, 42, of Nampa, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, with her family at her side, after a courageous and valiant 2 1/2 year battle with breast cancer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  The Rev. Orval Halley of the Fairview Nazarene Church will officiate.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Beatty was born on Jan 28, 1954, in Kalama, WA, to Cliff and Letha Kroll.  She was raised and educated in Kalama, graduating in 1972 from Kalama High School.  Beatty moved to Nampa in 1972 and her loving son, Doug, was born in 1976, keeping her busy in his early years.
On Sept. 24, 1984, she married the love of her life, Joe Schmitt.  Besides owning Schmitt Shoe Service, Beatty worked at the Chief Lounge, was a paralegal for Grant and Associates, and the Ranch House.  Beatty never met a stranger and was a treasured friend to all who knew her.  The support, friendship and encouragement shown to her by the members of the Fairview Nazarene Church will always be remembered.
Besides her work, she was a loving wife and mother, a wonderful homemaker, taking such pride in her home.  She loved riding her horses, working in the yard with her beautiful flowers, tending to her pet animals, and the weekly scenic rides around the countryside, whether it be the wild horses in the Owyhees or the deer and elk in the mountains.
Throughout the last 2 1/2 years she never gave up hope. She was indeed an inspiration to us all.  She had such strong faith, determination and courage, fighting to the very end.  Like Pokey Allen, whom she so admired, she never gave up.  She wasn't a quitter!
Her warm and loving smile, caring ways and strength were truly an inspiration to us all.  She will be missed terribly, but never forgotten.  Her love will live on in our hearts.
"Till we meet again My Little Flower — I Love You."
Beatty is survived by the two loves of her life, her husband, Joe, and son, Doug.  Also surviving her are her brothers. sisters and families — Ted Kroll, Rudy Kroll, Bernie Kroll, Dan Kroll. Arlene Billedeaux, Mary Richards and Melton Vaught; five sisters-in-law; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Beatty was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Edward "Lucky" Chin and John "Skip" Stratton.
Special thanks to the wonderful medical personnel that gave her such loving care — 4th floor south at St. Luke's and MSTI at Nampa, Mercy Medical Center Hospice, Terry Baum, Linda and Jim Dyer, Guy Givens, Susan and Jim Foster and Rev. and Mrs. Orval Halley.
The requests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice or flowers may be sent.
