Govenor Ross is Speaker
at Program Honoring Mr.
and Mrs. F. J. Graber

WILDER - With the Governor Ross as a guest Mr. and Mrs.
Frederick J. Graber celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with
a community party at the Fargo community hall Friday evening.
More than 200 relatives and friends were present from many Boise
Valley communities.
Charles Paine of Fruitland introduced Governor Ross, who gave an
interesting talk in which he mentioned association with the Graber
family more than a quarter of a century ago. Musical numbers
and the re-reading of the marriage vows featured the evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Graber were married October 5, 1883, at
Burlington, Iowa, with Rev. Joseph Stumberger, pastor of the
Presbyterian church there, officiating. Rev. Minnie J.
Dickinson, pastor of the Fargo Community church, re-read the vows
Friday evening.
As a token of esteem from friends and relatives Rev.
Dickinson presented Mr. and Mrs. Graber with overstuffed arm chairs.
Mr. and Mrs.. Graber's seven children, 13 grandchildren and three
great grandchildren were present. In addition there are six
other grandchildren who were not present. Two sons died in
infancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Graber and children came from Minnesota to
Idaho in November, 1906 and in December of that year filed on their
homestead in Fargo which has since been their home. |
