William Anders

     Funeral services for William Carl Anders, 86, of Caldwell, who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 1994, at his home of natural causes, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Treasure Valley Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Caldwell.  Burial will follow at the Wilder Cemetery, Wilder, Idaho, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
     Mr. Anders was born July 21, 1907, at Hardin Co., Iowa, a son of Wilhelm K. and Carolina Radtke Anders.  He was reared and educated in rural Iowa, moving to the Boise Valley in 1929.  William married Edith Garnet Hoots at Parma in 1931, and she died July 10, 1970.  William married Elizabeth Weed Grimes in May of 1972 at Caldwell and she died February 3, 1984.  William worked for local farmers before purchasing his own farm in 1951, and had resided there until the time of his death. He was both a dairy and agricultural farmer.
     William was a member of the Homedale/Wilder Masons and a member of the Treasure Valley Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Caldwell.
     Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Bertha Anders of Caldwell; two sisters, Sophie Grove of Clarion, Iowa, and Lillian Rodemyer of Rock Island, Illinois; four grandchildren, Dirk Anders, Corey Anders, Fritz Anders and Karla McWilliams; six great-grandchildren, Angela McWilliams, Holly McWilliams, Chelsea Ander, Adam Anders, Brenden Anders and Scott Anders; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Bill Anders; four brothers; and two sisters.
     The family suggests that memorials be given to the Treasure Valley Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 2915 S. Montana, Caldwell, Idaho.
     Friends may call Friday from 1 until 5 p.m. at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
