Wilmer Bishop

     Graveside services for Wilmer A. "Pete" Bishop, 66, of Wilder Route 2, who died Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wilder Cemetery.  The Rev. Gary McConnell of the Crossroads Assembly of God Church, Wilder, and the Rev. Ray Thompson of the United Methodist Church, Caldwell, will officiate.  Friends may meet at the cemetery.
     Mr. Bishop was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Mr. Clair, Neb., to William and Mable Bishop.  At the age of 12, he moved with his family to Kansas, where he graduated from Barclay High School, Barclay, Kan.  He married Catherine Ellis on Feb. 22, 1946, at Lyndon, Kan., and the couple ranched in Kansas until moving in 1962 to the Arena Valley, where they have since resided.  He had been active in livestock and feedlot operations until his death.
     He served as a member of the board of directors of the Riverside Irrigation District for several years.
     He is survived by his wife of Wilder; a son, Don Bishop of Wilder; his mother, Mable Bishop of Caldwell; two brothers, Elmer Bishop of Bock Springs, Wyo., and Bill Bishop of Parma; a sister, Leona Lamond of Osage City, Kan.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
     Memorials may be made to the Wilder Quick Response Unit.
     Friends may call today from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
