Verna Carman

Funeral services for Verna M. Mason Carman, 86, of Caldwell, who died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 1991, at the Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 7 p.m. tonight, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Pastor Harold Crowell of the Assembly of God Church will officiate.  Private interment will be at the Middleton Cemetery.
     Mrs. Carman was born
March 5, 1904, at Okanogan, Wash., a daughter of Bert and Alta French Hemenway.  She was reared in Washington state until moving with her family at the age of 11 to Idaho.  She married Ed Mason in 1931 at Vale, Ore. And the couple resided in the Ontario, Ore. Area prior to locating on a farm near Middleton.  Mr. Mason died in 1945.  She moved to Caldwell in 1946 where she had since resided.  She married H.H. Carman Aug. 18, 1964, in Lake Tahoe, Nev.  Mr. Carman died October 1964, in Lake Tahoe, Nev.  Mr. Carmen died in October 1964.  She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work and gardening.  She was baptized in the Baptist Church.
     She is survived by a son, Harry K. Mason of San Leandro, Calif.; two daughters, Vangie Werth of Susanville, Calif. And Naoma Mason of Caldwell; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Mason, three brothers and a sister.
