Rosary for Tomas B. Contreras, 61, of 419 16th
Ave. N., Nampa, who died Thursday, Oct. 27, at a
Boise
hospital, will be recited at
8 p.m.
Tuesday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
11 a.m.
Wednesday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Merle J,
Fisher, S.M.
Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with
military rites by members of the Col. Stotsenberg Post No.
3465, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nampa.
He was born Dec. 22, 1921, at Hondo, Texas, a son of
Santana and Dolores Balderas Contreras. He moved with his
family to
San Antonio,
Texas, where he was reared and educated.
He married Simona Vega March 15, 1942, at San Antonio.
He then served in the U.S. Army during World War II. The
family moved to Nampa in 1963 where he was an employee of
Northrup-King Seed Company for 10 years retiring in 1973 due
to poor health.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; four sons, Tomas
Jr., Samuel, Jesus and Victor Contreras, all of Nampa; nine
daughters, Linda Ortiz, Uvalde, Texas, Celia Contreras, Oralia
Cerda, Irene Duque, Elvira Contreras, and Delia Madrigal, all
of Nampa, Aurora Loredo, Lexington, Mo., and Angelia Congreras
and Doradelia Rodriguez, both of Nampa; his father, Santana
Contreras, Nampa; his mother, Dolores Contreras, San Antonio,
Texas; seven brothers; four sisters; 32 grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and one son-in-law preceded him in death. |
