Smith Oliver Lewis
Succumbs in Notus

     Smith Oliver Lewis, father of County Commissioner Ray Lewis, died at his home at Notus at 11:30 p. m. Tuesday.  Services will be at the Peckham-Dakan chapel at 2:30 p. m. Saturday with Rev. Ford M. Burtch of Boise and Rev. Irving Frank of Notus officiating.  Interment will be at the Tucker cemetery near Notus.
     Lewis was born April 29, 1862, in Canada.  He was a farmer.
     From Canada, he went to Columbus Junction, Ia., as a boy and attained manhood there.  He went to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1890 and in 1891 there he married Miss Della Bebb of Salt Lake City.  He was employed by the street car company at Salt Lake City for 11 years.  In 1902 he moved to Notus where he farmed.
     Mrs. Lewis died in May of 1923.
     Survivors are two sons, Ray O. and Clyde D., of Notus;  a daughter, Elta B. Lewis of Notus;  two brothers, Joe and Frank Lewis of Columbus Junction;  1s grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
