Services for Sylvia M. Jordan Dahlke, 57, of Wilder Route 1,
who died Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Caldwell hospital, will be
conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel,
Homedale. The Rev. Gary McConnell of the Crossroads
Assemble of God Church, Wilder, will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Wilder Cemetery.
Mrs. Dahlke was born Dec. 19, 1927, at Cleora, Okla.,
to Hyrum and Ruby Ballou. She attended schools in
Oklahoma. She moved with her family to the Wilder area
in 1941. She graduated from Wilder High School in 1945.
She married Chester Jordan on June 3, 1947, in Homedale. They
lived in several places, including California and Arizona
before settling in Arkansas in 1961. She took nurses
training while working at Little Rock State Hospital. In
1969, they moved to the Adrian, Ore., area and in 1970 they
moved to Texas. She worked as a nurse at West Texas
Hospital in Lubbock. She moved to Wilder in 1978.
She married Erwin "Earl" Dahlke in Caldwell in 1978. She
worked as a nurse at the Homedale Nursing Home until 1964,
when she retired due to ill health. She enjoyed fishing,
hunting. quilting and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband of Wilder; five sons,
Danny Jordan of Mountain Home, Ronald Jordan of Kuna, Kelly
Jordan of Wilder, Chriss Jordan of Cascade and Marty Jordan of
Tulsa, Okla.; her mother, Ruby Wood of Wilder; five brothers,
Elvin Ballou, Ernest Ballou and Everett Ballou, all of Nyssa,
Earl Ballou of Wlder, and Ervin Ballou of Eagle; a sister,
Mary Lou White of Steilacomb, Wash.; 12 grand-children, two
great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister.
Friends may call today from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and
Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. |
