MIDDLETON (Special) - A
resident of the Middleton community for more than a quarter of a
century, Mrs. Savannah M. Cox died at the family home here Tuesday
evening. She had been ill for more than three weeks, suffering
with pneumonia, but was thought to be recovering.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2
o'clock at the Baptist church at Middleton with Dr. W. J. Boone in
charge. Burial was in the Middleton cemetery.
Mrs. Cox was born at Jordan Valley, Ore., March 22,
1880. She attended grade school at Jordan Valley and in
Caldwell and was graduated from the academic department of the
College of Idaho in 1900. She was married on December 25, 1901
at Jordan Valley to Ora A. Cox.
Mr. and Mrs. Cox made their home on a homestead near
Middleton for 12 years and in 1915 moved to the family home in
Middleton. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Pansy Rebekah lodge of
Middleton and for many years was a member of the First Christian
church of Caldwell.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs.
Fleta Davison of Parma; one grandson, William Davison; two sisters,
Mrs. (Rosa?) Baker of Caldwell; and Mrs. Ada Foster of Eagle; and
two brothers, ? Canter of Spokane and Virgil Canter of Portland.
