Samuel Bowers

     Graveside services for Samuel L. Bowers, 85, Caldwell, who died Sunday, Oct. 21, at his home of natural causes, were conducted today at the Knowlton Heights Cemetery, Caldwell, by the Followers of Christ Church, Caldwell, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
     He was born July 29, 1899, at Cushing, Okla., the son of Charles and Lena Bowers.  He married Maude Eells on Nov. 9. 1918, at Buffalo, Okla.  They resided in Harper County, Okla., until 1935, when they came to the Caldwell and Homedale area, where they have since resided.
     He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; six sons: Harold, Roland, Leland, Bobby, John (Jr.) and Melvin, all of Caldwell; four daughters, Sibyl Sevy of Melba, Leah Cunningham, Boise, Gail Kester of Caldwell, and Coetta Kieth of Oregon City, Ore.; one sister, Goldie Taylor of Anderson, Calif.; 56 grandchildren, 122 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by four brother, five sisters and his parents.
