Richard V. "Dick"
Dillon, 64, of Boise, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1988, at home of
natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday,
Feb. 10, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Caldwell. Rev. Clare
Willcuts, chaplain of Sunny Ridge Manor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Wilder Cemetery.
Mr. Dillon was born March 24, 1923, at Burr Oak, Kan., a
son of Madison and Laura Hockett Dillon. He was reared and
educated in Burr Oak. He moved to the Greenleaf area in 1941.
He married Louella Marie Harris on July 27, 1942, at
Greenleaf. They lived in Greenleaf until 1949 when they moved
to New Plymouth for a short time. In 1950, they moved to
Nampa. He stopped farming at that time, and was an
owner-operator of a cattle trucking business. He sold his
interest in the trucking business and became a full-time
diesel mechanic. He married Wanda Sexton on June 6, 1958, at
Wilder. They lived in Caldwell, Boise and Yakima, Wash.,
before returning to Boise in 1962. They moved to Ontario,
Ore., in 1972, and to Salt Lake City in 1973. They returned
to Boise in 1979 when he retired. Wanda died in June of 1985.
Dick was a bus driver for the Capital High School teams
for many years. He enjoyed football and wrestling events.
Survivors include four sons, Ron Dillon of Burns, Ore.,
Fred Sexton and Randy Dillon, both of Boise, and Rick Dillon
of Nampa; two daughters, Marcia Caldwell of Nampa and Jeanne
Pepper of West Valley City, Utah; two brothers, Dale M. Dillon
of Boise and Dallas P. Dillon of Caldwell; 13 grandchildren; a
great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
