Robert Baird

    Robert D. "Bob" Baird, 76, of Melba, died Sunday, May 24, 1992, at the Nampa hospital.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 1992, at the Melba 2nd Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Bishop Mark Hoagland, bishop of the ward will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Melba Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
      Bob was born on December 8, 1915 at Carey, Idaho, to William Murdock and Aliason Simpson Baird.  He was reared and educated in Carey, graduating from high school there.  He married Annie Shelley on November 23, 1936, at Nampa.  Their marriage was later solemnized on June 21, 1978, at the Idaho Falls
, Idaho L.D.S. Temple.  Following their marriage he started farming in the Carey area.  In 1943 they moved to Melba where he continued farming.  He retired in 1986 and they have resided in Melba since.  He was an active member of the Melba 2nd Ward L.D.S. Church.  He was also a member of the Walters Butte Grange #130.
     Bob is survived by his wife, Annie of Melba; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Wanda Baird, Fayetteville, Georgia, and Dean and Jelene Baird, Nampa; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Delmar White, Yakima, Washington; 2 brothers, Earl Baird, Buhl, and Edwin Baird, Modesto, California; 1 sister, Mrs. Jane Sparks, Carey, Idaho; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 1 great-granddaughter.
     Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday at the Melba 2nd Ward from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.

     The family suggests memorial contributions to the Melba Senior Citizens, Melba Valley Senior Center, 115 Base Line Road, Melba, Idaho 83641.
