Funeral services for Owen Capps, 70, of
114 W. Baseline Rd.,
Melba, who died Saturday, Dec. 24 at his home, will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Melba Community Baptist
Church by Dr. Fred W. Knight. Interment will follow at the
Melba Cemetery under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel
of Nampa.
He was born Sept. 18, 1913 in Henderson County, N.C., to
Benjamin and Elaine Ivie Capps. He moved with his family to
Idaho and was reared and attended schools at Melba. He had
farmed in the Melba area all his active life, except for two
years spent farming in the Bruneau area. He married Mary L.
Reineke Ruiz March 5, 1963 at Melba. He retired in 1978. He
was a member of the Melba IOOF Lodge and the Melba Gun Club.
He is survived by is wife, Mary of Melba; three sons,
Ron of Bakersfield, Calif., James of Melba, and Marion Webster
of Nampa; one daughter, Michele Ring of Rantoul, Ill.; one
sister Wilma Herman of Melba; one half sister, Mildred Heyer
of Nampa; 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents,
his mother having died Aug. 24, 1983.
Memorials may be made to the Roger Reineke Scholarship
Fund at the Melba High School, to the Melba Community Baptist
Church, or flowers may be sent. Friends may call at the
Flahiff Funeral Chapel in
Nampa
until 9 p.m. Tuesday and until
noon
Wednesday or at the church after
1 p.m.
Honorary pall bearers will be Ted Wood, Cecil Wood, H.V.
Pfister, Richard McClaran, Edgar Muller, Loran Hupe. Active
pall bearers will be Vance Leavitt, Scott Leavitt, Gerald
Berrett, Paul Montgomery, Dennis Charters and Dan Waitley. |
