Onda T. Berends

    CALDWELL - Services for Onda T. Berends, 56, of Eagle, who died Tuesday in a Nampa hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a farm accident, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dakan Funeral Chapel by Don Baldwin and LaVerne Baldwin of the Followers of Christ Church.
    Interment will be at Peaceful Valley cemetery, southwest of Caldwell.
    Mr. Berends was born on March 13, 1918, in Lycan, Colo., and moved with his parents to the Riverside Community, north of Marsing, when he was four.  He had lived in the Riverside area most of his life.  He married Louiza Locer on Dec. 10, 1951, in Caldwell.  They moved to Linder Road in the Eagle area in the spring of 1970.
    He was a member of the Followers of Christ Church.
    Surviving in addition to his wife are two brothers, Eldon Berends, Marsing, and Floyd Berends, Oregon City, Ore.; two sisters, Velma Coffelt, Emmett, and Effie Smith, Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tessa Inez, and a brother, Allen Berends.
