CALDWELL - Services for Oliver E. Clarke, 87, of Route
4, Caldwell, who died Wednesday night in a Caldwell hospital, will
be conducted at Sterry Memorial Presbyterian church in Roswell at 2
p.m., Monday by the Rev. Raymond Wilson, pastor.
Internment will be at Parma under the direction of the
Dakan Funeral chapel.
Mr. Clarke was born April 22, 1884 in Lincoln, Illinois
and moved with his family to Taylor, Nebraska, when he was 4. He was
educated at Taylor, Neb., and Sedalia, Missouri, where his family
moved in 1894. He returned to Nebraska in 1900, and married Leota L.
Dilsaver, September 11, 1915, at Taylor. They farmed in Nebraska
until 1957, when he retired and they moved to Parma. Mrs. Clarke
died July 8, 1970, and he since had lived near Caldwell with a
daughter. He was a member of the Congregational church in
Taylor.
Surviving are three sons, Frank Clarke of Caldwell,
Leonard Clarke of Culver, Oregon and Barton Clarke of Nampa; five
daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Cuddeback amd Mrs. Lola Beshey, both of
Caldwell. Mrs. Ruth Frank of Payette, Mrs. Rose Sullivan of Parma
and Mrs. Pauline Wells of The Dalles, Oregon; 20 grandchildren; 14
great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Nora Clarke.
Memorials may be given to the Sterry Presbyterian
church or the Idaho Youth Ranch at Rupert.
