Orville Albert Butler, 79, of Wilder, entered his heavenly
home after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis,
Tuesday, November 9, 1992. Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 p.m. Friday, November 12, 1993, at the Golden Gate
Baptist Church, Wilder, with Pastor Everett Berrey and Pastor
Sam Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow at the Wilder
Cemetery, under the
direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Orville was born November 26, 1913, at Flagler,
Colorado, eldest son of
Albert F. and Clara M. Pettey Butler. As a small child he
moved from their homestead with his parents in a covered wagon
to Phillips County, Kansas, where they began farming and lived
in a sod house. He moved to Wilder in 1937 where he married
his childhood sweetheart, Lucille I. Pollard, on November 4,
1937. They engaged in farming throughout their married life.
On Sunday, November 4, 1993, Lucille and Orville celebrated
their 56th wedding anniversary at their home with
39 members of their family, after all attending church at
Wilder.
Orville was a 50-year member of I.O.O.F.#137 and served
as Noble Grand twice. He was Amateur Radio Operator W7RCV for
42 years. Orville was chosen A.S.C.S. Farmer of the Year of
Canyon County in 1974. He was also a member of the Wilder
Farm Labor Sponsoring Committee, Wilder Chamber of Commerce,
Wilder Cemetery Board, Senior Citizens Club, The Good Sam
Club, and a 45-year member of the
Golden Gate
Baptist Church in Wilder.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lucille; their 4
children, a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Danny Cagle of
Greenleaf, sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Loyce Butler
of Wilder, Michael and Rebecca Butler of Garden Valley, and
Frederick and Carol Butler of Wilder; 16 grandchildren’ 4
step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 stepgreat-grandchildren;
2 brothers and their wives, Jess and Jewel Butler of Buena
Park, CA., Albert and Joan Butler of Boise, ID; numerous
nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
He was dearly loved by his family and friends who will
remember his friendly nature and warm sense of humor. He
often told people he considered himself to be a millionaire
because of his family.
We, his family, were the ones truly blessed with a Godly
husband, father and grandfather and thank God for sharing him
with us.
Friends may call at the Dakan Funeral Chapel today from

to 8 p.m.
