Mrs. Norah C. Evans,
87, of Caldwell route 4, passed away Thursday night at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. James McHugh, of Caldwell,
following a short illness.
Mrs. Evans was born Feb 29, 1872, at Otto county, Neb.
When a child, she moved with her family to Nebraska City,
Neb., where she attended school. She was married to
Oscar H. Evans on March 9, 1886 in Nebraska City, Neb.
They came to Bear Creek, Idaho in 1889. In 1894 they
moved to Whitebird, Idaho, where they homesteaded and lived
for a period of 23 years. In 1919 they came to Caldwell,
where they again engaged in farming in the Dixie Community,
where she has since resided. Her husband passed away in
1935 in Caldwell. She was a member of the Middleton
Grange No. 6.
She is survived by five sons, Ora H. Evans, Middleton,
Walter E. Evans, Notice (Notus), Marion F. Evans, Caldwell,
Thomas T. Evans, Quincy, Wash., Chester A Evans, Lodi, Calif.;
one daughter, Mrs. James McHugh, Caldwell; one brother,
Tom Cahpple, and one sister, Mrs. Jenny Biemer, both of
Independence, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.
Services are pending at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel. |
