Graveside services for
Merritt Basil Anderson, 69, of Marsing, who died Friday, Sept.
11, at home of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday
at Knowlton Heights Cemetery, Caldwell.
The Followers Of Christ Church will officiate under the
direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mr. Anderson was born Aug. 29, 1918, at Two Buttes,
Colo. to Frank and Nattie Cunningham Anderson. At an
early age he moved with his parents to Idaho. He
received his schooling at Riverside and Knowlton Heights
schools. He was inducted into the U.S. Army April
17, 1942, and served in England, North Africa, Sicily, Italy,
South France and Germany. He was honorably discharged
Sept. 30, 1945.
He married Vera Berends Aug. 31, 1946. They lived
in Marsing for seven years then moved to a desert homestead
five miles south of Marsing where they had since resided.
He is survived by his wife of Marsing; seven daughters,
Sharon Shippy, Elaine Randolph, Darla Downs all of Caldwell,
Sylvia Milburn of Grants Pass, Ore., Edith Anderson, Marianne
Bigson and Leona Sevy all of Marsing; a son, Dennis Anderson
of Marsing; four brothers, Lafe Anderson and Mervin Anderson
both of Caldwell, Orba Anderson of Homedale and Keith Anderson
of Marsing; three sisters, Lois Bowers and Irma Shaddy both of
Caldwell and Zola Smith of Marsing. |
