Mabel Brooks

     Services for Mabel Brooks, 83, Homedale, formerly of Nampa, who died Saturday, July 21, at a Homedale nursing home, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the Homedale LDS Church.  Interment will follow at the Wilder Cemetery under the direction of the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
       Mrs. Brooks was born June 30, 1901, at Clawson
, Idaho.  She married John Lbert Turner in 1919, and he died in 1929.  She married Harris Linn Brooks June 21, 1930, in Weiser.  They lived in the Mesa Orchards and later moved to a homestead on the Owyhee Project in Malheur County until 1941.
     They lived in Homedale from 1955 until 1959.  Mr. Brooks died in 1963.  Until April 1083, she had resided in Nampa and was a resident of the Homedale nursing home for the past year.  She was an active member in the LDS Church.
     She is survived by four sons, George Turner of Moses Lake, Wash., John Turner of Greenleaf, Harris Linn Brooks of Royal City, Wash., and Howard Brooks of Boise; two daughters, Violet Bybee of Reseda, Calif., and Nora Perkel of Middleton; a step-daughter, Alice Cederberg of Eagle; a sister Daisy Shaw of Fruitland; 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren one great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, and a stepson.

     Friends may call at the Homedale LDS church Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
