Marshel Denning

      Marshel Gerald Denning, passed away February 20, 1997, at an Ontario, Oregon, hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb.26, 1997, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.  Pastor Michael Franell of the First Baptist Church, Fruitland, will officiate. Committal services will be held at noon, Feb. 26, at Roswell Cemetery Roswell, Idaho.
     Marshel Gerald was born Oct. 21, 1917, to James Riley and Lexie Rosetta Gardner Denning at Ammon, ldaho.  The family moved to Idaho Falls when Marshel was six years old and later to Blackfoot and to Lost River where be worked in the family saw mill.  He married Jane Embry and they had one son, Ronald Gerald Denning.  During World War II, Marshel joined the Navy and served in the Pacific as a CB.  After the war, he returned home, where he was employed by numerous cattle companies in Idaho and Montana. He most recently worked for the Pancheri Ranches in Long Valley, Idaho.
     On Jan. 8, 1977, Marshel . married Eva Tuning Armacost at Payette, and they made their home there until the time of his death.  He loved his family and was proud of his heritage as a western cattleman and living life his way.  He loved working with cattle.  He and Eva loved to spend time riding horses in the mountains and timber.  He enjoyed fishing and exploring new areas, spending a nice summer day and having a picnic.  They spent their summers in Meadows Valley and the winters in Yuma and Apache Junction, Arizona.
     Marshel is survived by his wife, Eva Denning of Payette; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darwin and Jean Denning of Las Vegas, Jeris Vaughn and Marie Denning of Sun River, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     His parents and his son, Ronald; his sister, Lexie Porter; and three brothers, Treece, James, and Gene, preceded him in death.
     Memorials may be made to the American Legion, Divin-Slonecker Post 126, Melba, lD, in care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, lD., 83661. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.
