Minnie Babcock

    Graveside services for Minnie B. Sayre Babcock, 91, of Gardena, formerly of Caldwell, who died Friday, at her home of natural causes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Wilder Cemetery.
     Rev. Richard DeBriae of the Bend
Baptist Church will officiate under the direction of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
     Mrs. Babcock, a homemaker, was born to Mounce and Mary Bowman January 26, 1905, in the
Dixie community near Caldwell.  She attended the Green Top School through the eighth grade then attended Greenleaf Academy for three years.
     She married Lewis Sayre in March of 1915 at Caldwell.  They lived all of their married life at Wilder and Caldwell and raised four children.  Mr. Sayre died in November of 1952.
     She later married Waller Babcock in May of 1958 in Caldwell.  They made their home in Caldwell until he passed away in January of 1972.  she then moved to Sacramento
, Calif., where she lived with a daughter.
     She had been living in Gardena since 1983 with her two daughters until her death.
     She was a member of the Oak Park Baptist Church in Sacramento, and while living in Gardena, she attended the Bend
Baptist Church at Horseshoe Bend.
     She is survived by a son and three daughters, Athol Sayre of Hillsboro, Ore., Maxine Gilbert of Caldwell, Helen Sower of Horseshoe Bend (Gardena), Reba Zaharie of Sacramento, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by two infant children and a grandson in 1969.
