Lila Ferguson

    Graveside services for Lila Grace Stover Ferguson, 80, of Marsing, who died Tuesday, March 18, at a Caldwell nursing home, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wilder Cemetery.
    The Rev. Clare Willcuts will officiate, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Mrs. Ferguson was born April 18, 1905, at Turnip Hollow, Pa., to Samuel and Elsie Graff Stover.  She moved with her family to the Homedale area in 1917.
    After finishing her education, she married Robert H. Ferguson on July 2, 1925, at Boise.  They lived in the Homedale area, where they farmed.  In 1942 they moved in to town.  She worked at various packing sheds for several years.
    She managed Dale's Cafe in Homedale from the mid 1950s to 1963; Steve's Cafe from 1963 to 1968; and the Owyhee Lanes Restaurant in Homedale from 1968 to 1972.
    She retired in 1974, then moved to the Marsing senior citizens housing complex in 1978.
    She was a member of the Marsing Senior Citizens and the Homedale Friends Community Church.
    She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed sewing, gardening, raising flowers, reading romance and Western novels, and fishing.
    She is survived by a brother, Frank Stover of Marsing; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Ferguson of Redwood City, Calif.; three sister-in-law, Golden Hooper of Ontario, Ore., Lucinda Gordan of Freemont, Calif., and Othell Hisey of Kelseyville, Calif.; two grandchildren, Kelly of San Bernardino, Calif., and Shanly Ferguson of Reno, Nev.; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah and Joseph Ferguson of San Bernardino, Calif.; three nieces, Ruby and Dorothy of Coeur d'Alene , and Erma of Emmett; and a nephew, Daryl Stover of Caldwell.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; two children, Robert and Virginia Ferguson; and two brother, Jim and Clemence Stover.
    Memorials may be made to the Marsing Senior Citizens Center or to the Friends Community Church, Homedale.
    Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.  Family friends are invited to a potluck dinner at the Marsing Senior Citizens in Marsing at 4 p.m.
