Lowell Ashcraft

     Memorial graveside services for Lowell T. Ashcraft, 80, of 1201 Elgin St., Caldwell, who died Tuesday, July 5, at a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Parma Cemetery by the Rosicrusian Order.  Cremation and services are under the direction of the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
     He was born Sept. 6, 1902, at Wilford, Idaho, a son of William and Amanda Ashcraft.  In 1908, he moved with his family to the Big Bend community near Adrian, Ore., where he was reared and educated.  He farmed with his father for several years and married Ellen Martin on Nov. 5, 1927, in Rexsburg, (sic) Idaho.
     The couple farmed and in 1937 they moved to Rupert where they owned and operated a gas station and motel.  In 1943, they returned to Adrian, Ore., and operated the Adrian Gas Service, Motel and Restaurant.  In 1947, they moved to the Yakima Valley of Washington where he operated several different businesses.  He also operated businesses in Arizona.  They had made their home in Caldwell since 1979.
     He was a member of the Rosicrusian Order of San Jose, Calif.
