Lena Brooks

     Funeral services for Lena L. Leigh Brooks, 80, of 408 N. Locust, Nyssa, Ore., who died on Thursday, Dec. 8 in an Ontario nursing home of natural causes, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the Kirkpatrick Memorial Community Church, Parma.
       The Rev. C.H. Yadon and the Rev. Larry Ragains of the Valley United Pentecostal Church, Caldwell, will officiate.  Interment will be in the Parma Cemetery, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel of Caldwell.
       Mrs. Brooks was born Dec. 4, 1903, in the Ten Davis Community east of Parma to William and Fannie Fretwell.  She graduated from Roswell schools.  She married Cecil Leigh on July 24, 1924.  The first years of their lives together were spent in McCleary, Wash., and the Willamette Valley in Oregon.  In 1935 they returned to the family homestead at Apple Valley near Parma, and it was there that Cecil died on Oct. 30, 1966.  She then married Claude C. Brooks Nov. 27, 1976, and they moved to Nyssa.
       She was a charter member of the Parma United Pentecostal Church.
