Leda Dawson

    Leada Josephine McGowen Dawson was born Oct. 20, 1907,   at Wittspring, Searcy Co., Arkansas, the second child of  nine children of Martin Ross and Martha Janey Fain McGowen.
     Leada died January 25, 1994, at West Valley Hospital of natural   causes. She was 86 years, 3 months and 5 days. Funeral   services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 31, 1994, at   Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.   Interment will follow at the Middleton Cemetery.
      At age 13, her parents moved to Prague, Oklahoma, where she was raised. She lived also in New Mexico, Kansas and Idaho.  She met and married Samuel H. Gill, Dec. 5, 1926, and he died in 1935. They had three children, and one child, Samuel of Lenore, Idaho, survives. She then married Boyd E. Dowers, May 25, 1937, and they later were divorced. To this union were born two children, and one child survives, Bill D. Dowers of Caldwell. She then married Clifford W. Dawson, Jan. 18, 1947, and he died Sept. 30, 1957.   In addition to her two surviving children, she is survived by a sister, Alice B. Dawson, and a brother, William E. McGowen, both of Caldwell; twelve grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     Services will be held at Dakan Chapel, Monday, Jan. 31, 1994, with interment following at Middleton Cemetery.
