Kip Koegler Labrum, “Laughing Boy,” 19, of Nampa, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1995, near Nampa.  Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, in the Fifth-Seventh Wards Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3015 Sunny Ridge Road, Nampa, with Bishop Monte Schlerf, presiding.  Burial will follow in the Melba Cemetery under the direction of Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
     Kip was born Sept. 5, 1975, in Boise, a son of Duane L. and Laura Lee Koegler Labrum.  Kip graduated from Nampa High School in the spring of 1994.  There is a short list of things Kip disliked – fruit, needles, going to the dentist, pain and confinement.  The list of things he loved is longer than any of us can recall.  If anything was rumored to be fun, he would try it.  Kip scuba dived; he snow, jet and water-skied.  He dove off bridges and cliffs.  Kip played pool and video games with his friends.  He hunted, rode snow-mobiles and motorcycles with anyone who would go.  He was not a watcher, but a doer.  Reading was the only thing he wanted to do alone.  He loved the books Sphere and Ender’s Game.
     His job was almost like play to him and the people he worked with never stopped laughing.  Kip loved to stay out late, to sleep in later, and to take long naps.  Jack in the Box was his usual breakfast.  He got along wonderfully with everyone, especially babies and small children.  Kip was one of those people who could pick you up both physically and in spirit.  He added to everyone he knew.  He was a gift.
     Kip is survived by his parents, Duane and Laura Labrum of Nampa; a brother, Jace Duane Labrum and two sisters, Teela Labrum and Sarina Labrum, all of the home; his grandparents, Dean and Helen Labrum of Pocatello and Steve and Emma Lou Koegler of John Day, Ore,; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
