Services for
James L. Dutro, 77, Nampa, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, in a
Nampa nursing home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the
Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
The Rev. Dwight Steele, pastor of the Caldwell First Baptist
Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Dick Shaw,
associate pastor of the church. Interment will follow in
the Parma Cemetery.
Mr. Dutro was born on March 31, 1907, in Brooklyn, Iowa, to
Samuel and Mary Hulse Dutro. At a young age he moved
with his family to Colorado and later to Orofino. They
then moved to Notus, where he completed his education.
He later moved to Nampa and in 1928 went to work for the
Pacific Fruit Express Shops there. He married Edna
Wilson on July 5, 1930, in Nampa. He retired from the
railroad in 1973. Edna died on March 20, 1978. He
then married Docia Knapp on April 27, 1978 in Coeur d'Alene
and they had resided in Nampa since.
Mr. Dutro attended the Caldwell First Baptist Church and was
a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen of America.
He is sruvied (sic) by his wife of Nampa; four daughters,
Vicki Chynowith of Boise, Virginia Craig of Grants Pass, Ore.,
Peggy Dofflemeyer of Porterville, Calif., and Debbi Gallentine
of Fairfield, Calif.; two sons, Alfred A. Knapp of Middleton
and Henry A. Knapp, Nampa; three sisters, Catherine McFarland
of Nampa, Mildred Cobble of Nampa, and Dorothy Nilio,
Kennewick, Wash.; 26 grandchildren; and numerous
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife, Mr. Dutro was preceded in
death by one brother and six sisters. |
