Jose Betancourt

    Prayer services for Jose Guadalupe Betancourt, 79, of Caldwell, who died Sunday, July 27, in the Caldwell hospital of nautral causes, will be held at 7 tonight at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.   The Rev. Manuel Munoz of Iglesia Rosa De Saron of Caldwell will officiate at both services.
    Burial will follow in the Wilder Cemetery.
    Mr. Betancourt was born Nov. 8, 1906, at Mercedes, Texas, to Pascual and Refugia Garcia Betancourt.  He moved to Wilder in 1974.
    He married Vicenta Garcia in 1975.  They moved to Caldwell in 1978 where they have since resided.
    He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; three daughters, Olivia Betancourt of Caldwell, Ninfa Alcantara of Parma and Santos Ovalle of McAllen, Texas; four sons, Juan Betancourt of Edinburg, Texas, Agustis Betancourt of Texas, Jose Betancourt of Caldwell and Jose Salazar of Caldwell; three brothers, Martin, Jose and Leonardo Betancourt; four stepsons, three stepdaughters, 30 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by Maria De La Luz and Carlos Bentancourt.
    Friends may call at the Dakan Chapel today from 4 to 9 p.m.
