Rosary for
John E. Douthit Sr., 74, of Loomis, Calif., formerly of Nampa,
who died Monday, June 23, at a Roseville, Calif., hospital,
will be recited today at 8 p.m. at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel
of Nampa.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Flahiff chapel
with the Rev. George Fahey, S.M., of St. Paul's Catholic
Church, Nampa, officiating. Burial will follow at the
Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
Mr. Douthit, a retired farmer and carpenter, was born June 9,
1912, at Fullerton, Neb., to Anson and Emma Lambs Douthit.
He was reared and educated there.
He married Eudena Lorraine Medberry Feb. 22, 1940, at
Greeley, Neb., and they made their home in Nebraska, where
they farmed.
They moved to Kuna in the late 1940s and farmed there.
They later lived in Nampa for several years.
Mr. Douthit died Feb. 10, 1978.
For the past few years, he had wintered in California and
Arizona and spent the summers in Idaho.
He attended St. Paul's Catholic Church and was a member of
the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Needles, Calif.
He is survived by three sons, John E. Jr. and Gary L. Douthit
of Boise, and Charles T. Douthit of Rocklind, Calif.; two
daughters, Mary A. (Mrs. Roy B.) Hebard of Loomis, Calif., and
Carolyn S. (Mrs. Byron K.) Lines of Fairfield, Calif.; a
brother, James E. Douthit of Nampa; a sister, Mary Reiley of
Boston, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and
several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call today until 9 p.m. and Friday until time of
services at the Nampa Flahiff chapel. |
