Wilder - This section has lost another pioneer in the passing of J. C. Mayhew Sunday night at the Caldwell sanitarium, where he had been taken Saturday.  His illness extended over a period of more than a year at his home east of Wilder which he had homesteaded.  Besides his widow he leaves a son, Frank, who is still at home; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Stillwell who with her three children has been making her home with her parents, and another daughter.
The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the M. E. church with the Rev. George Ellis and the Odd Fellows officiating.
