Brief Illness Claims
Life of Notus
Pioneer


     James Billingsley Mansell, 83, a pioneer resident of the Parma and Notus Communities died at his home in Notus early this morning after a brief illness.
     Born at Chattanooga, Tenn., Feb. 6, 1859, Mr. Mansell came to Idaho in 1875.  At Emmett, Nov. 7, 1886, he was married to Miss Ida Belle Adams. The officiating minister was the Rev. Mr. Thompson of Emmett.  Mrs. Mansell died in Notus Sept. 14, 1941.  Mr. Mansell was a member of the Methodist church until recently, when he transferred his membership to the Notus Baptist church.
     Survivors include five sons, Bert Mansell of Oroville, Calif.; John I. and Marion Mansell, both of New Meadows; Walter B. Bansell of Caldwell and Vestal T. Mansell of Notus; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Cochrane of Notus and 12 grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be held at the Notus Baptist church Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. (Caldwell time).  The Rev. George Roseberry, Caldwell pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Tucker cemetery.
