John Alvin Means, 67,
920-15th Avenue South, Nampa, died at a Nampa hospital early
Wednesday morning. He was born Feb. 20, 1890, in
Clinton, Iowa. He came to Idaho with his parents when he
was a small boy and the family located at Nampa. Later
moving to Star. He married Florence Breshears in Boise,
on Dec. 25, 1908. They resided in Star until returning
to Nampa in 1918. He was employed by the
Morrison-Knudsen Co., for 24 years and retired due to ill
health in 1947.
He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Florence Means, Nampa;
a son Kenneth A. Means, Strathmore, Calif.; two daughters,
Mrs. C. T. Cornilles, Nampa and Mrs. J. D. Sites, Boise; two
brothers, E. R. Means, Downey, Calif. and L. A. Means, Boise;
a sister, Mrs. Ethel Pope, Boise; six grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the
Alsip Chapel with the Rev. George H. Huber officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. |
