Ira J. Corn

     Graveside memorial services for Ira John Corn, 71, of Middleton, who died Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the veterans Administration hospital in Salt Lake City, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Middleton Cemetery, by the rev. Charles Jackson, of the Middleton Church of the Nazarene.  Cremation was conducted in Salt Lake City with local arrangements under the direction of Flahiff Funeral chapel, Caldwell.
     He was born Dec. 28, 1910 at Chicago, Ill., to Augustus A. and Pauline S. Hartman Corn.  He came to Caldwell with his family at an early age and attended schools at Marble Front Grade School, Caldwell High School and the College of Idaho.  He joined the Army Air force in 1942 and served during WWII as an airplane mechanic with the 47th Basic Flying Training Squadron.  He was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1943 and returned to the Caldwell area where he did general labor for several years.
     He is survived by an uncle, Everett E. Corn, of Caldwell, and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Gus, in 1978.
