Graveside services for Heber Grant Campbell, 60, Lewiston,
formerly of the Caldwell area will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday
at the Parma Cemetery. Campbell died of injuries sustained in
a horse-related accident Sunday, Oct. 2.
A memorial service was held today in Lewiston under the
direction of Mountain View Funeral Home, Lewiston.
Mr. Campbell was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Ogden, Utah, to
Elmer and Bertha Campbell. He grew up in the Caldwell and
Parma area and farmed there until entering the Navy in 1944.
He married Vilma Whitmire April 27, 1945, and she died in and
accident in 1961. He married Mary Johnson May 21, 1966 in
Nampa. He has worked in the construction business for the
last 11 years as a powderman and blaster. He was a member of
Local 238 Labor Union. He was also a member of the Mormon
Church.
He is survived by his wife of Lewiston, three sons,
Dennis Campbell of Wasilla, Alaska, Terry Campbell, Anchorage,
Alaska, Richard Johnson, Caldwell; five daughters, Judy
Campbell Scoles, Wasilla, Alaska, Judy Hubler, Kenai, Alaska,
Polly Campbell, Phoenix, Arizona; Jonie Kay Weymouth,
daughter, Jordon Valley, Ore.; Cathy Klinginsmith, Parma;
four brothers, Dutch Patient, Prairie City, Ore., Marley
Campbell, Idaho Falls, Scott Campbell, California, William
Campbell, Boise; five sisters, Olive Crace, Nampa, Joann
Pennington, Parma, Bertha Bittick, Nampa, Reba Black, Salt
Lake City, Fauntella Hill, California; 18 grandchildren, and
one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three
sisters.
Memorials may be given to Shriners Hospital for Crippled
Children, N. 820 Summit Blvd., Spokane, Wash., 99201.
Friends may call Thursday between 10 a.m. and noon at
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Parma. |
