Services for Howard
Andrews, 52, superintendent of Kellogg schools for the past 15
years who died in Kellogg yesterday, will be held there
tomorrow. Services will be held in Caldwell at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel. Interment will be
in Lower Boise Cemetery near Parma.
Mr. Andrews died from complications of a brain tumor
discovered last summer when he collapsed at this office.
He had been ill for about six months. He was a native of
Parma and was graduated from the University of Idaho in 1929.
He went to Kellogg for his first teaching job. He later
was superintendent of school of schools at Roswell, and high
school principal and superintendent at Emmett. He served
one year as director of placement at the University of Idaho
before returning to Kellogg.
He was a past president of the Idaho and Inland Empire
Education Associations, past chairman of the State High School
Interscholastic Activities Board and a past president of the
Kellogg Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gwen Andrews, Kellogg;
three daughters, Diane, Corvallis, Ore., Karen, Menlo
Park, Calif., and Lynn, at home; his father, A.W. Andrews,
Notus, and a brother, John E. Andrews, Bay City, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his mother. |
