Persis H. Brumbaugh of Roswell departed this Earthly life at
Malheur Memorial Nursing Home in Nyssa, Oregon, on Friday,
March 25, 1994, at Roswell Baptist Church with Rev. Virgil
Saltz and Rev. Robert Obenchain officiating. Internment will
follow at the Roswell Cemetery, under the direction of Dakan
Funeral Chapel, Parma.
Persis was born in Mitchell County, Kansas, to John and
Cora Miller on July 5, 1898. She was educated in a country
school and graduated from Hill
City High School in
1919. She was united in marriage to Loyal Brumbaugh on May
18, 1919. To this
union were born six children, 4 sons and 2 daughters.
She was a homemaker and the family was raised on farms in
Graham County, Kansas. In May 1948 they moved to
Roswell,
Idaho, where they made
their home. Mrs. Brumbaugh resided at Grace Haven near Wilder
for 3 ½ years before moving to Malheur Memorial Nursing Home
in Nyssa.
She is survived by her children, Billy LoRee Pearson of
Wakeeney, Kansas, Loyal Brumbaugh of Roswell, Idaho, Kent
Brumbaugh of Logan, Kansas, Joan Blakeney of Soldotna, Alaska,
and Gene Brumbaugh of Cascade, Idaho. Other survivors include
25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 2
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal, on
August 5, 1954; one son, Edwin, on March 26, 1993; one
great-grandson, Christopher; one brother; and one sister.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Malheur
Memorial Nursing Home, Grace Haven, or Roswell Baptist Church. |
