Funeral
services for Glen Stanley Beebe, 87, Homedale, who died Monday
in a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in
the Friends Community Church, Homedale, by the Rev. Kenneth
Pitts of the Friends Community Church and the Rev. Clare
Willcuts of the Boise Friends Church. Interment will
follow in Greenleaf Cemetery, with last rites performed by the
Rev. Homer Smuck of the Nampa Friends Church, under the
direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
He was born June 27, 1894 in Cheyenne, Wyo. He moved
with his family to Payette in 1900. He later lived in
Colville, Wash., Rocky Ford, Colo., and Rupert. He
served in the Army from 1918 to 1919. He married Fannie
Nutting on May 24, 1919, in Rupert. They moved to the
Wilder area, where they farmed 1921, when they moved to
Greenleaf. In 1930, they moved to the Knowlton Heights
area where they farmed until 1933, when they returned to
Greenleaf. They moved to the Ridgeview, Ore., area, west
of Homedale, in 1938, where they homesteaded. They
retired and moved to Sunny Ridge Manor in Nampa in 1980.
He was a member of the Friends Community Church, Homedale, and
was an usher there for 30 years. He donated land and
helped establish the Ridgeview school west of Homedale.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; four sons, David of
Ridgeview, Rex of Idaho Falls, Richard of Eugene, Ore., and
Ralph of Newburg, Ore.; a daughter, Helen Traver of Portland;
18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two nephews; and a
niece. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a
sister.
Friends may call at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale,
Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Friends Community Church,
Homedale. |
