was born in Shannon City, Iowa.
Also, I have transcribed this article as published.
The spelling of his surname proves to be Merriam.
Rootsweb shows his wife to possibly be Clara Mar

Man Succumbs To Heart Attack

Glenn Gordon Mariam,
prominent Parma business man, died this morning at the family
residence following a sudden heart attack. The body is
now at the Peckham chapel at Parma pending funeral
arrangements.
Mr. Mariam, who was born February 8, 1888, has lived at
Parma since 1918 when he came there from Iowa. For many
years he was associated with the Parma C. C. Anderson company
and for the past six years has operated a grocery business
there.
He is survived by his widow; his mother;
one brother, William H. Mariam, who is a missionary in India,
and one nephew, William H. Mariam, Jr., who has made his home
with the deceased for a number of years. The Rev. Mr.
Mariam has planned to spend a vacation with his brother this
year and is now on his way to the United States from India. |

Funeral services for
Glenn Gordon Merriam, Parma business man who succumbed Monday
to a sudden heart attack, will be held Thursday afternoon at
the Parma community church with the Rev. W. O. Benthin in
charge. Burial will be at the Parma cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Merriam are his widow, Mrs. Clara
Merriam; his mother, Mrs. Rena Merriam of Parma;
one brother, William Merriam, a missionary in India; a
nephew Bill Merriam, who attends college in Ohio; and a
niece Mrs. Annabelle Ruggles. |
