George DeSloover

      Funeral services for George A. DeSloover, 73, of Nampa, who died on Thursday, Oct. 10, 1991, at the Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel. Father Augustine Hartman, Chaplain of Mercy Medical Center will officiate.  Burial with graveside rites by the Nampa Elks Lodge No. 1389 will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
     Mr. DeSloover was born Oct.7, 1918, at Detroit, Mich., where he was reared and graduated from high school.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He married Doris G. Bender Aug. 9, 1946, at Detroit where they made their home.  George was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for many years before retiring.  In 1985 he and his wife moved to Nampa to make their home.  Mrs. DeSloover preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 1989.  George was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Nampa Elks Lodge No. 1389 currently serving as the Esteemed Lecturing Knight.  George really enjoyed golfing and since moving to Nampa spent many days relaxing on the golf course.
     George is survived by a daughter, Darlene Cislini, Boise; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy DeSloover, Roseville, Mich., and Richard and Stynette DeSloover, Kuna; a brother, William DeSloover, Milford, Mich.; four grandchildren, Raymond and Russell Rottach and Matthew and Michael DeSloover; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Tia Marie Rottach and a special friend, Colleen Korn, Nampa.
     Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel until9 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
     The family suggests memorials to the Elks Rehabilitation Hospital, P.O. Box 1100, Boise, ID 83701.
