Sheepherder Shoots Himself in Taking Gun from Tent – Lives a Few Hours

     Dick Bishelberger, a sheepherder who was working near Notus for Ed Gilbert, lost his life Monday night about 8 o'clock while trying to save a shotgun from being destroyed by a fire in his tent.  The tent caught fire and Bishelberger grabbed the gun by the muzzle when the hammer caught in such a manner as to cause it to explode, the charge of shot entering his body.  He crawled to the residence of Mr. Gilbert but lived only a few hours after the accident.  The unfortunate man was about 35 years old and came from El Paso, Texas.  The remains were brought to Parma and were interred Wednesday in Fraternity cemetery.  The coroner's jury rendered a verdict of accidental death.
