Services for Della Mae
Brandel, 61, Caldwell, who died Wednesday, Jan. 8, at a
Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be held at 11 a.m.
Monday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
The Rev. Raymond A. Thompson of the Caldwell United
Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow
in the Middleton Cemetery.
Mrs. Brandel was born Oct. 2, 1924, at Bradshaw, Neb.,
to Morris and Lura Warren Culp. In March of 1937, she
moved with her family to Boise, where she attended Boise and
Franklin high schools. She later worked at the Idaho
First National Bank for a time.
She married Emery Brandel on March 3, 1945, at Boise
They operated a dairy farm at Boise until January 1960 when
they moved to a dairy farm in the Purple Sage area near
Caldwell. She had worked at various places at Caldwell,
and for the past eight years she worked at the Canton Cafe in
Caldwell. She had retired from there this past December.
She is survived by her husband of Caldwell; two sons,
Doug Brandel of Caldwell and Rick Brandel of Flagstaff, Ariz.;
two daughters, Connie Cristiano of Atlantic City, N.J., and
Vickie Knox of Boise; two brothers, Warren "Bud" Culp of
Snowhomish, Wash., and Raymond Culp of Hemet, Calif.; five
sisters, Elenore Hoffman, Charlene Haines, Audrey Hatch, and
Roberta Roush, all of Boise, and Eunice Wittlake of Lancaster,
Calif.; one aunt, Helen Price of Suthgate, Calif.; four
grandchildren, Kimberly Jo Brandel, Michael Douglas Brandel,
John David Brandel and Trevor Robert Brandel.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
